| Description | The IPI is based on 6 proxy indicators associated with constraints and opportunities of corruption |
| Methodology snapshot | The Index of Public Integrity (IPI) measures a country's ability to control corruption by assessing six key factors that either enable or constrain public integrity. These components: -Budget Transparency, -Administrative Transparency -Online services -Judicial independence -E-citizenship -Press freedom These components capture the institutional and societal conditions that shape corruption risk. The IPI is constructed through standardized data from reputable sources, ensuring comparability across countries. Each component is normalized on a scale from 1 to 10, and their equal-weighted average forms the final IPI score that is in turn rescaled to a range from 1-100. The index is statistically validated, correlating strongly with both subjective and objective corruption indicators, making it a reliable tool for governance assessment and reform strategies. |
| Scale | Low public integrity to High public integrity Note: For this indicator, max values are better. |
